First trail run in months!

First trail run in months!

Unexpected gorgeous run this morning in between storms.
I am very excited for the Timeline apps. Although, the design of this one does not sit well with me.
I’m so glad I never bought a Tesla. Like, really glad.
Deleted Threads tonight. Pretty easy to do since I never got as sucked in. I don’t use Facebook anymore, but I can’t delete it yet. With my dad passing away a few months ago, I find myself going to his profile and looking at pictures and reading past messages.
First time for this. This is why you have a duplicate racket.
Sometimes the scenery is more fun than the run. Okay, most of the time it is.

Praying to God that he doesn’t ask me if his new sweater makes him look fat. 😬
Working at Strava is turning me into a runner.
Some days, most days, it’s really hard to get out of bed when it’s dark to go running, but then you get out there and see beauty that not many other people are seeing. 🏃♂️

Three times running up Mt. Tam this week! Hopefully someday it won’t exhaust me so much.

Today I got time, gradients, day of week, and dates working. Current outside temp is up next. I am also having a grid 3D printed and I ordered light diffusing plastic to make the pixels square and more connected to look like La Metric. In other news, I really hate C++ and wish I could be using a more modern language.

Swift has destroyed my ability to work with any language that uses semicolons.
Tonight I made some serious progress on MFMetric, my version of La Metric. I finally have the two libraries locked down that I am going to use for drawing/text and actually have them working with the screen, and in the correct orientation. I am having to create a custom font for my screen size, which is very tedious. It took hours to figure out how to make a flexible-width font. The characters you are seeing are the only ones done, but the framework is in place. It’s pretty slow-going because it’s been so long since I have done any C programming. Hopefully tomorrow I can get all numbers done and then display the actual time which I already have because yesterday I got this thing connected to the internet and syncing with NTP servers.
Today the sky isn’t nearly as orange as yesterday in San Francisco, but the air is much, much worse.
Does anyone know of a website that you can upload a textbundle file to be shared and viewable?

Every time I have to go back to the world of Obj-C, I want to pull my hair out and feel the need to take a shower.
If the iPhone 12 comes with Touch ID, it will be an automatic purchase for me. Very much over Face ID.
